Choosing a receipt printer in Windows

By the end of this article, Novella POS is printing receipts to a chosen printer.

Install the printer in Windows first

Novella POS prints to any printer Windows already knows about, whether it is thermal, inkjet or laser. There is no thermal-printer driver specific to this app to source or configure. Set the printer up in Windows first, the same way you would for any other program, then come back to Novella POS to select it.

Select it in Novella POS

1. Open Settings and click the Receipt card.
2. Scroll to Printer and choose it from the Printer dropdown. Windows’ default printer is marked in the list.
3. Click Save receipt settings.

Confirm it works

Click Print test page next to the printer dropdown. A status message reports whether it was sent successfully.

Printing automatically

Turn on Automatically print a receipt after every sale on the same screen if you want a receipt to print without a separate action each time. Leave it off to print only when Reprint receipt is clicked from a completed sale or from Sales History.
